Why We Like The Vittoria Corsa G2.0 Tire

As a top choice for Vittoria's professional riders, the Corsa 2.0 Tire has seen wins at the highest level of road racing. This version of the Corsa features a revised Graphene 2.0 compound that functionalizes Graphene's performance advancements into more specific applications. In the case of the Corsa G2.0, the targeted improvement is to lower rolling resistance, without sacrificing durability. The tire retains Vittoria's 320 TPI Corespun-K casing that closely conforms to the road's surface, providing you with the supple ride quality Vittoria tires are known for.

The descender's friend

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is an excellent high-performance road tire that I have only used in dry conditions. Vittoria keeps the Corsa line at a very high level of effectiveness, with some issues seen in other reviews here. The tradeoffs are worth it. I'm using a 700x28 on a road bike fitted with tubeless tires, but I'm running tubes for simplicity. I can't tell the difference in handling between tubeless and tube with this tire, so you can do what you prefer and get the same performance. These run wide on modern wide rims. The 28 tire measures a remarkable 31.2mm on my Argonaut wheelset. The 700x25 is wider (roughly 26) than the Rene Herse Cayuse Pass 700x *26* (roughly 25.8). The width is your friend, they can be run at lower pressures and still adhere incredibly well on the hairpins while reducing impedance resistance. They are also easy to put on and remove for flat repair, running a little "large" compared to notorious tight brands like Continental. Quality issues are occasional. I have gone though about 12 of these at different sizes and not seen any quality issues though I have heard of friends getting sidewall bubbles (and other deformities related to tubeless installation issues). The compound is buttery-soft and therefore these tires don't last forever, and I wouldn't enjoy the wear and damage from using these on gravel AT ALL. They are more durable than Veloflex or other precious racing tires on gravel, but not really that much. I'm heavy and get about 1800-2000 miles on the rear and a healthy 2500 plus on a front. I have not experienced a flat in long enough that I shouldn't mention it going into fall without jinxing it for sure. They are more durable against flats than they have any right to be considering the performance and comfort. The way the tire meets the sidewall is very reassuring: in deep technical, countersteered turns the tire deforms in a way that you can't feel an obvious transition from the soft tire contact center to a more brittle sidewall, it feels continuous and reassuring all the way through the turn. They also somehow don't deform in a way that low-pressure tires can, where they feel like that are going flat. They manage to be firm enough to instill confidence at lower pressures. Since these run so big I run them at much lower pressures than I did the 25s, and they feel almost unbelievably comfortable. Having a tire that is both comfortable but confidence-inspiring in technical conditions is really appreciated.

Great tires, have NEVER had a problem.

I can feel like an outlier, reading the negatives. For years, I've owned many sets of Vittoria Corsas and Rubinos, all from Competitive Cyclist. With never a problem of any kind. My latest Corsa 2.0 Graphenes have a very supple, comfortable ride; confidence-inspiring handling, and they have almost a thousand miles on them. I run them at 90 psi front, 95 rear on a Specialized Roubaix. Thank you.

Failed within a month

I probably have about 200 miles on these tires in a month and the tire has become unglued from the sidewall. My last set the sidewall fell apart within 6 months. Someone else on the group ride had same tires this weekend and had to bail halfway through because sidewall failed. 3 strikes and you’re out for me. Too bad because these used to be great tires.

No Issues so far

So far no issues following my first 2023 Gran Fondo. I have the gum wall 28s. The ride is supple at 70psi for a rider weighing 155lb. I’m well over 300 miles on them and haven’t had any problems. After every ride I ensure that I check them once over to remove any type of shards that may be visible. I think that they complete the look of my 1987 Trek Elance.

What Happened Vittoria? Tires Fell Apart

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought these to put on a spare bike. Didn't get used a ton but seem to have fallen apart in under a year of minimal use. They were on a trainer over winter (admittedly not a great trainer tire) but the tread seems to be separating from the casing after maybe 250 miles of total riding (indoor & out). Thought it was just the trainer until I saw the same thing happening to the front tire which only saw maybe 100 outdoor miles. Unrelated - they are a nightmare to put on. Some of the tightest beads I've ever dealt with. They looked cool and did ride well when on them but the build quality just isn't there. I used to love Vittoria Pave tires but these have turned me from the brand for now.

Nice Ride, but Flawed

Have never had this issue before, but these tires pop off the rim. I have never had a tire do this before and I have had many tires on these wheels. I can be riding smooth flat, no corners and the tire just jumps the rim. This has happened multiple times now. I was skeptical about the tires because they were a good deal. Well, my expensive mistake. Tire has jumped on 3 of my last 5 rides. Super frustrating to have wasted all that money because the tires are now "used". Do yourself a favor and don't buy these. My opinion, anyway.

Beautiful supple road tire

5 stars for these reasons. This tire looks amazing with the gum wall on my HedJet6 wheels. Really nice to look at. The perceived rolling resistance is there. I commute to work on the same bike on kysiriums with conti4000s2 same 25mm width and am about 1-1/2 miles faster, the commute is about 12 miles one way. So they are faster but on a different rim set up. The ride over the conti4000 is superior. They just feel more comfortable. They also grip very well on turns. I haven't put but 200 miles on them so I can't say anything about durability. Contis are very durable. Get this tire for improved rolling resistance and comfort.

Puncture prone

Familiarity:

Disappointed with these tires. Road them 6 times and under 250 miles and punctured both rear and front tires. Yes I have been riding in cold conditions, but the roads I ride on are very clean and well maintained. Have had less issues with my Continental GP 5000's in the winter. Other than the puncture they ride just ok. More on the slow side. I had the same issue with the Rubino 2.0's. Wouldn't recommend buying these, they tend to puncture very easy.

Potential solution to flats and cuts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have long been an advocate for "aging" tires since I learned about it from the Czech and Russian National Teams in the 1970's. I had also forgotten about it until I started noticing that my flat tire experience with these was consistently worse if I put them on right after receiving a shipment than if I put them on 3-6 months later. I have now gone through almost 30 pairs of these tires and the pattern is hlding: The newer the tire the more little cuts I get from glass and other sharp objects. Older tires are a tiny bit less supple, but far less prone to the little cuts. Most flats are caused by glass staying stuck in the cut and slowly wearing its way through the graphene.

Supple Tires

Best tires I've ever used. They were tough to get on the first time. Handle corners nicely.
