Now I see what the hype is about!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
When you start seeing endurance racers like Hannah Otto sporting these, it starts to make you wonder if it's the real deal. Having been a dedicated user of the other major hydration pack brand, I was skeptical about any pack that didn't have a hipbelt and a "bite-valve" claiming to be ideal for mountain biking. Within about 5-10min, I saw the light. That was before even taking it for a ride. It's so easy to fit the straps and before you know it the pack feels snug up against you without jostling around whatsoever. Out on the bike, it's more of the same. Zero movement. I'd just about forget I was wearing it if it wasn't for the weight of the water it's holding. Even with the bladder full, the weight felt secure and stable. So, I'm pretty sold on it as long as I'm not needing to carry a ton of gear. For light and fast efforts, it's perfect. The pack is minimalist, but has enough room for a spare tube, multitool and CO2. You can also squeeze in some nutrition in the same compartment as the bladder. The removable pouch has nice organizing mesh pockets to keep everything tidy which is nice. The bladder so far is easy to work with. Filling, emptying, cleaning are all easy with the top opening all the way up similar to a dry bag. The drink valve has a good amount of flow to it and so far is leak free in addition to having the shutoff lever so your trunk stays dry on the way to the trail. Looking forward to more miles with this pack!
