While we have nothing against the retro cap style of your typical urban fixie, sometimes versatility has to win out over style. Thule's Pack 'n Pedal Commuter Backpack plays the staid, mature older sibling to the devil-may-care messenger bag look, putting function first in a pack that transitions easily between life on two wheels and life on two feet.

The main compartment is sealed by a roll top closure, is waterproof, and incorporates reflective elements, but the pack also includes a stowable rain cover with yet more reflective detailing. When it comes to storage, this bag's cup runneth over. It's got an assortment of internal organization, easily accessible outer pockets, and a padded, removable 15in laptop or tablet sleeve. It's even got a reinforced (Thule goes so far as to claim "crush-proof") pocket for glasses and the like.
