X9 3x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur

This SRAM X9 3x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur doesn't clamp around the seat tube, rather it's designed to bolt right to a Shimano-type direct mount. Don't be confused with a Low Direct Mount, which is an E-Type without the E-plate, also mounting directly to the frame or in some cases, a swingarm. The easiest way to recognize this X9 High direct Mount Front Derailleur is that it's a traditionally styled, bottom swing design.

The difference between this X9 derailleur and its X0 big brother is that this one uses powder coated steel for the links that shape the swing of the derailleur cage rather than aluminum. This material choice adds a few grams, but it still retains the widely spaced pivots for stiffness and precise, quick shifting. The derailleur cage is also made from steel for maximum durability and is shaped for optimum performance with their X-Glide chainrings. The X9 3x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur is specifically designed to work in conjunction with SRAM's 3x10 cranksets.
