When your SRAM or Avid brakes just don't feel like they used to, reach for the SRAM Standard Disc Brake Bleed Kit to give your brake lines some love with a fresh pump of DOT 5:1. Critical for keeping things working well, this kit is intended for SRAM and Avid brakes, but will not be your friend on Shimano brakesets, swapping your DOT 5:1 to Mineral Oil (and vice versa) won't fare well on the trail and leads to very unhappy brakes.
Equipped with everything you need to bleed your SRAM brakes, this kit contains two bleed syringes with fitting/clamp tubes, two compression ferrules and barbed tubing inserts, four different bleed blocks, a 3/8in drive 8mm crawfoot tool, DOT 5:1 brake fluid, and the ever important instruction manual so you do the job right the first time around.

OK for occasional use
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The SRAM bleed process is great and this kit gets it done. Yes the syringes are weak, but my biggest issue was the stiffness of the bleed tubes. Once clamped shut with major effort, upon release the tube stayed kinked closed. (see photo). Bleeding edge fitting is great!

Great kit, horrible shipping
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The Sram kit is perfect and easy to use. Competitive Cyclist uses DHL for shipping. My package sat for days before DHL decided to pick it up and then took forever to transfer it to USPS for delivery. I ordered a part from a different online vendor after I placed this order, received it and installed it before this order arrived. Competitive Cyclist told me to call next time and ask to have it shipped by UPS. Why would I go through the trouble of calling when other online vendors automatically use faster shippers?

Syringes are weak and leak air easily
Pay the extra $ for the pro-level kit. Everything else worked great, but the syringes in this kit are cheap. Very difficult to pull fluid from the lever syringe without pushing from the caliper syringe. Then the seal broke on the one and I got air in my line resulting in going in to the shop anyway. I wish I had sprung the extra $30-40 for the pro level kit or the park tool kit
