Why We Like The Specialized S-Works Turbo T2/T5 Tire
The Specialized S-Works Turbo T2/T5 Tire is a tube-type tire optimized for race day and high-speed training rides. The Gripton T2 center compound is fast and efficient in keeping us rolling with speed on the straights, while the T5 compound on the shoulders improves grip for added confidence in the corners. It also features improved puncture protection with the all-new hybrid Kevlar Blackbelt breaker underneath the tread and a light, supple casing.

Impossible to get on rim
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 700x28
I normally love the S-Works tires but not so much for the turbo edition. The grip and ride is excellent on the tire. However, when I flatted recently it took myself and a kind (and strong) cyclist who happened to stop and help, 45 minutes to get the turbo onto the rim. The fit is extraordinarily tight and almost impossible to get onto my Royal rims...thus the poor rating. Buy the standard (non-Turbo) version of the tire.
