Why We Like The S-Works Stumpjumper EVO Frame

We're expanding the possibilities of what we can do on trails with help from the S-Works Stumpjumper EVO Frame from Specialized. It's a rough and rowdy "shred-sled" built to conquer the most technical trails. It leaves us free to launch into full send mode, weave through trees, and hop rocks and roots like we wouldn't believe. With 150mm of plush, performance-tuned travel and the adaptability of S-Sizing, we're set to rip and do it all confidently. Specialized increased the pedaling performance and made for a more capable and agile ride by prioritizing kinematic performance, and Rider-First Engineered frame technology makes for a size-specific approach that lets us stay comfortable no matter what size we are. Plus, the SWAT door, which was introduced to the Stumpjumper in 2016, adds room in our frame for those necessities like pumps and spare tubes. Though the bike is intended to roll on 29-inch wheels, you can run it mullet-style with a 27.5 rear wheel using Specialized's aftermarket MulletLink (sold separately).

Trend Setter

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Long, Low, Slack; all words used to describe the best characteristics of modern trail bikes. The Stumpjumper Evo was the first trail bike to offer these characteristics and this newest iteration is ever more progressive than the last. If you want one bike to do it all, look no further. This bike is eager to climb the steepest single track but is most at home descending rowdy, steep, loose, chundery, fall-line trails. The steep seat tube angle puts you in a perfect position for long days in the saddle while the low standover height allows you to get the saddle out of the way when pointing this rig downhill. The slack headtube angle (with tons of adjustment) ensures a stable ride through the roughest of trails. I am 5'10" and ride a size S4. This is the perfect size for the riding I do and the trails in and around Park City. That said, if I were riding tight, twisty trails I would consider sizing down to the S3. As with all Specialized bikes, the attention to detail is industry leading. The internal cable routing is the easiest I have ever used and the finish on the frame is top notch. Register your frame within 90 days and you have the piece of mind that it's covered with a lifetime warranty. If you're looking for a trail bike with a bit of an attitude look no further. The Stumpy Evo is the bike you've been looking for.
