Why We Like The Smith Dispatch MIPS Helmet
With an easily adjustable fit system, consistent airflow, and an integrated rear LED light, the Smith Dispatch MIPS Helmet is ideal for daily commuters and E-bike riders. The AirEvac system features 8 fixed vents to keep our heads cool, while the VaporFit and Fidlock systems allow easy one-handed adjustments. And, because crashes unfortunately happen, Smith equipped the Dispatch with the MIPS brain protection system to reduce rotational forces caused by impacts to keep us safe.

No ear strap clips: A surprising downgrade
The Dispatch helmet does not include clips for securing the ear straps in place, a feature present in the Express model. This omission means that the ear straps become misaligned every time the helmet is removed or carried, requiring frequent readjustments to maintain proper fit and effectiveness. This not only compromises the helmet's safety but also detracts from the overall user experience, as it takes time to fix the straps when they get completely messed up. I'm disappointed by this design choice, particularly given that the Dispatch is marketed as a "NEW MODEL" and priced so much higher than the Express. It's puzzling why such a useful feature would be omitted in what is supposed to be an upgraded version of your product.

Nice helmet
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I decided to give this helmet a try because I've been looking for one that carries both Mips + NTA 8776 certifications. I like the look of this helmet, the matte finish is nice and overall it feels well made. I like the idea of the rear light but didn't use it. The straps are soft and the fidlock buckle is great. I'm not sure if the ventilation would be adequate, as I returned the helmet before using it. I was between sizes and opted to size down. I probably should have gone with the bigger size as this one causes uncomfortable pressure as soon as I put it on. Due to the size, I'm unable to make adjustments to increase the overall comfort.

Not for 'round' heads
Wanted to get a MIPs helmet so thought I'd try a Smith product after seeing all their great online reviews. The quality and build of the Smith Dispatch is fantastic as is their shipping time, however, it's not a very good fit for a 'round' head. Fit is true to size, but have found it uncomfortable after a short time period while riding. To get it comfortable without any 'pinch spots', the adjustment needs to be dialed to the point where the helmet is getting too loose. The chin strap also slips loose easily, and am having to re-adjust it during rides. I wanted to give this helmet a chance, but it's definitely not a 'keeper', and since I've used it and can't return it...it's one for the goodwill donation bin I suppose.

Great Commuter helmet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 205
I bought this helmet primarily for use on my e-scooter to get from my car to my various work places in downtown Seattle. Helmet is super comfortable and looks good on top of it. Minimal mushroom head! Helmet is also reasonably lightweight. As it is mostly closed on top I most likely use when I ride my bicycle on rainy winter days. I bought the Poppy Red color, as it was on sale. The color was my only real concern when ordering as to whether I’d like it or not, I like it. The clip on LED light is also a nice added feature. Overall this is solid helmet, just what I was looking for. Definitely recommended

Fits well on my big head
And super stylish! The buckle took a second to get used to though.

Super safe, super comfy!
I've spent a fair amount of days in this helmet riding my eBike around town. I feel super safe in this helmet knowing it passes the eBike certification! It's incredibly light weight with 2 big lightweight Koroyd panels at the side/back. Since its so light weight you truly forget you're wearing it! I really like the magnetic Fidlock buckle and how easy it is to put on and feel secure when it snaps together - truly a one handed operation. The overall aesthetic of the helmet is perfect, I really like the clean lines and matte finish, a lot of eBike helmets seem blown up or big but this helmet keeps a nice low profile. Plus, the integrated light is so sleek - it's so nice to always have a bright light that moves with you when you're riding from a to b in the darker hours. Overall, this is an amazing helmet for eBike commuting/riding and honestly its a great helmet for any type of urban cycling!
