Why We Like The RC1 Cycling Shoe
Shimano’s entry-level RC1 Cycling Shoe hits the sweet spot between spin-class readiness and budget-minded touring. With an eye on simplicity and comfort, the three offset hook-and-loop straps close down to provide a secure and performance-focused fit while keeping a refined and aerodynamic profile. The moderate stiffness of the fiberglass reinforced nylon sole, combined with opening the straps after your interval session, provides a pleasant walking experience compared to highly stiff carbon-soled shoes on the market. The perforated synthetic upper breathes and cleans easily after early spring rides on semi-damp roadways. The RC1 is equipped to pair with 3-bolt cleat systems making it ideal for road-specific cycling or your at-home trainer.

Run small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- 45
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 185
I've worn size 45 for years in different brands and styles of shoes. Even off-brand Chinese shoes. I ordered size 45 and they were almost 1/2 inch shorter than my present pair. My toes were touching the end of the shoe, and they were slightly narrower as well. Competetive Cyclist should have a disclaimer on the description of these shoes warning that they run small. I ordered Size 46 as a replacement, I hope they are big enough. On the plus side, these shoes seem to be well-made with a stiff sole, and they are lightweight.

Fit is way smaller than stated
- Size Bought:
- 43
Every other shoe that I've ordered is at least two sizes bigger than these shoes
