SLR C59 Saddle

The Selle Italia SLR C59 takes minimalism to the next level, shaving every spare gram from its shape to create the lightest saddle that Selle Italia has ever created —and we suspect it may even be the lightest weight saddle on the market, coming in at a minuscule 63-grams. Looking to save weight wherever possible, the SLR C59 takes away every facet that adds matter to the saddle, including leather and padding, leaving you with a saddle that's clean, elegant, and left with nothing but impeccably precisely laid up carbon fiber.

The Selle SLR C59 is built with 100% carbon fiber construction, starting with oversized oval rails, moving to the saddle its self, comprised of meticulously laid carbon fiber that is not only incredibly lightweight, but strong as well. Carbon, unlike aluminum, has a knack for absorbing vibrations, rather than reverberating them, so despite the lack of padding in this saddle, you'll find it still reduces vibrations that are sent to your sit bones, so you can maintain comfort. This saddle's complete carbon construction may be strong, but due to its completely minimalist build, it's not suited for off road use, and is best reserved for riders under 90kg, or 198lbs.

With a width of only 128mm, the Selle SLR C59 is best suited for riders with narrower sit bones. It doesn't just shed material in the width department, though, as it comes in at only 265mm long—10mm shorter than most of their saddles, to reduce material and weight further. It features a large cutout, designed to reduce pressure on the perineal artery, pudendal nerve, and soft tissue where muscles and nerves experience increased sensitivity. Instead of relying on your soft tissue and nerves to take the weight, the large center cutout moves your positioning to disperse pressure on your sit bones instead. With the pressure is directed to your sit bones (ischial tuberosity), which are better adapted to supporting your body weight, your pudendal nerve is able to carry on and move down your body between muscles, free of extra pinches and disturbances from improper saddle positions, so you can commit to your miles and focus on the finish line.
