Made for years of downhill laps the responsive and fast Santa Cruz V10 Carbon CC MX S Mountain Bike doesn't stress while we're death gripping the handlebars. This beast of a downhill bike has over 8in of travel front and rear all equipped to Santa Cruz's VPP suspension linkage. VPP is well known for being able to keep things in control when the riding gets crazy, so there are as few sketchy bits as possible while we're flying down that double black diamond trail. The V10 is built for aggressive trail riding and shows its prowess at downhill parks all around the world.
Living up to riding one of the most aggressive downhill bikes on this side of the Mississippi is no easy task. Santa Cruz makes it easier by outfitting the V10 with hyper-aggressive numbers meant for getting the bike down the steepest of grades and biggest of features with ease. Equipped with a 29in front-wheel and slacked out 63.3-degree head-tube angle the numbers make rolling over big trail obstacles almost too easy. A shorter wheelbase with the 27.5in wheel in the rear make cornering the bike much easier, too, so we can hit twisty trail on a DH bike with new confidence. A lot with the V10 has changed since the first VPP frame layup. With near 10cm longer wheelbase, a much longer front-center, and bigger wheels making the bike faster than ever before.
Santa Cruz employs SRAM, Fox, and RaceFace to outfit the bike with parts that can handle downhill laps all day long. Coming standard on the lightweight and stiff Santa Cruz CC carbon are supreme 4-piston hydraulic stoppers and huge 200mm rotors. The drivetrain is touched up with the downhill rated SRAM GX and Descendent groupset with a large 36t chainring and tight 11-25t cassette. Fox suspension outfits the front and rear with a Performance Elite coil out back and the massive 203mm worth-of-travel Fox 40 in the front. The V10 comes stock with a chain guide and gives us peace of mind while we're smashing down hyper-technical trail.
*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change.
