Great wheel, fabulous warranty
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have to lead off with their (Reserve’s) warranty statements: “Lifetime. No gimmicks. Not limited. If you do actually manage to break our rim while out riding, we’ll replace it for free. And probably high five you in the process!” Well, I broke (cracked) one. I can’t physically SEE the crack, but the wheel loses 30 lbs. of air an hour. And I re-taped it three times and tried two brand new tires along with new valves. After explaining this to them, they figured that was enough and sent me a new wheel. And I didn’t have to send the damaged wheel back first. I only had to take pictures of it. I’m pretty certain it happened when an unrelenting motorist forced me over into a bridge joint and my wheel dropped into it and gave it punishment it wasn’t designed for. No wheel is. Compared to the other wheels I have, these handle remarkably well in crosswinds. (It has to get over 35 mph before anyone calls it breezy here) They have a great road feel/feedback and there’s virtually no lateral give. I’ve tried four different tire brands over the past year and haven’t had any fit issues. Oh, great sound from the free hub.
