Aeffect R 35 20mm Rise Handlebar

A no nonsense trail oversized handlebar, the Race Face Aeffect R 35 20mm Rise Handlebar gives the modern mountain biker a durable set-and-forget bar that’s eager to rip up the trail with you. Sitting at a generous 780mm width, this bar will add control on your aggressive all-mountain trail or enduro machine and is the kind of bar for riders seeking strength rather than counting grams.

The Aeffect R's 35mm clamp section increases stiffness at the all-important handlebar/stem junction. Butting the tubing reinforces high-stress areas while thinning the walls wherever possible to keep the claimed weight at a reasonable 345g and improve ride comfort. This isn't the lightest bar, but it will laugh off abuse that would normally destroy a carbon bar and save your wallet. The 9-degree backsweep and 5-degree upsweep of the 2014 aluminum felt completely neutral in our hands and the stealth black on black looks great on any mountain bike.

Sweet bars, but not for me

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Been riding these bars for about 6 months. Really loved them until I attributed wrist pain from them. I ride 20 miles a week on trail/xc terrain and that's just too much harshness for me. Otherwise, very sweet bars for the price. I'll be looking for something more compliant.
