T2+ Carbon Clip-On TT Bars

Profile Design is a veritable one-stop shop for customizing your time trial or triathlon position. In addition to several base bars, they also have over a half dozen extensions to choose from. The T2+ Carbon Clip-on Bars are one of the more popular extension shapes for maximum hand positions and comfort.

Rather than the more traditional upward ski-bend curve, the T2+ extensions step downward and are parallel to the ground. This allows your wrists to align with your forearms and your hands to comfortably wrap around the underside of the bars. This bend has been popularized by professional cyclists and triathletes as it is more aggressive than the ski-bend design. Reverse curved extensions position your hands and forearms lower and decrease frontal area.

The T2+ extensions were constructed of multi-directional, multi-layered carbon fiber which places an emphasis on strength and durability rather than stiffness and low-weight. If you choose to use bar end shifters the extensions are pre-drilled to accept internal cables.

Whereas many time trial bars lock you into a pre-determined position, Profile uses its J-4 brackets which allows for custom fore and aft positioning. With these brackets, the armrests are set back 20mm from the center of the base bar, and they are reversible for a more forward armrest position. It is compatible with aftermarket risers to elevate the armrests, while maintaining a desired wrist angle. And, it is not difficult to adjust — it is all done with a single bolt.

In addition, the bars are individually clamped to your base bar which means width is fully adjustable. You won't have to roll your shoulders into an uncomfortable position just to feel secure on the armrests — having a wider stance also opens up your chest so that breathing is easier. After all, we like as much oxygen in our lungs as possible.

The F-35, molded arm rest finishes off the T2. This features three fore/aft positions and 30mm of adjustment (+/- 15mm) while also allowing for 15deg (+/- 7.5deg) of rotation adjustment to angle armrests. Thick, 16mm EVA foam pads, with anti-bacterial/anti-microbial covers, are included and affix with hook and loop fasteners.

The Profile Design T2+ Carbon Clip-On Time Trial Bars are designed to fit both a 31.8mm and 26.0 base bar (with included shim). They are available in One size and in the color Black.
