Coast Suspension Dropper Post with 40mm of tunable air suspension and smooth dropper action
"The 40mm of suspension in the Coast Dropper Post is more than just a nice-to-have—it’s a must for gravel and hardtail riders looking for smoother rides. The hydraulic cartridge design makes seat adjustments intuitive and reliable, and the external routing option made installation super straightforward for my older hardtail.”
Gravel rides, urban commutes, or loaded bikepacking adventures—no matter the mission, the PNW Components Coast Suspension Dropper Post delivers unmatched comfort and versatility. The integrated 40mm of air suspension takes the edge off washboard roads and unexpected potholes, while the dropper functionality keeps us agile as we shift from climbs to descents.
At the core of this post lies a dual-chamber hydraulic cartridge that balances supple shock absorption with efficient pedaling performance. The tunable air spring allows riders to fine-tune the suspension based on weight and terrain, ensuring optimal comfort across diverse conditions.
The Coast is available with internal or external cable routing, making it compatible with a wide array of gravel, commuter, and XC bikes. With seat tube diameters of 27.2mm, 30.9mm, and 31.6mm, plus travel options of 100mm or 120mm, this dropper post is ready to transform any bike into a more comfortable and capable ride.

Well built but not for big guys
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Well built but not for big guys. At max pressure It bobbed while i was pedaling, I am 6'5" 250lbs. So if your over that i do not recommend it. I gave it 4 stars because i am sure it would work well for lighter riders. Guessing 200 and under would work well but not sure above that.

Upgrade that any hardtail needs
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I was searching for a dropper post for a while and saw this with air suspension. I bought it and installed it with the PNW loam lever on my Giant Talon 2 and its been amazing so far. It is not meant to make it feel like a full suspension bike but its meant to smooth out the rough bumps and big rocks that you come across. I highly recommend this for anyone who's in need of a dropper post.

100% diggin it
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
threw it on a SC Stigmata with 650 wheels and it's just an all around good time bike now. where i notice the suspension the most is on rough climbs. the gentle suppression allows for you to maintain the pedaling power versus being bounced around from big rock to big rock. also super pleasant on the pelotas when you find a random pothole.
