Go one size up

I have several Giro and Pearl Izumi shoes in 46, but after seeing the reviews here, I ordered these in 47. That's the way to go. I only have about 40 miles on these now. The initial impression is very positive, and I imagine the uppers will conform more over time, but you need to get the length correct from the start.

Just received these as a Christmas gift. I own Specialized shoes, size 44, which fit well. I also own a different pair of Pearl Izumi in size 45 that fit well. These, 46, fit well around the foot but are too short. I'll have to return them. Unfortunately, they are not offered in a 46.5 which I think would be perfect. Too bad as they seem like great road shoes otherwise. I "normally" wear size 11 in street shoes with typical foot width if it helps anyone in making a size choice.

I wear a Size49 and got these in white. The are used in conjunction with Speedplay Zero pedals and I use the F6 shims. The fit is good at 49; I do have narrower feet, but they still cinch up nicely without buckling. If there is any appreciable stretch, that may be something to be less happy about over time. After about 200km (3 rides), I can say they fit good and are comfortable. They are easy on and off thanks to some elasticity around the ankle area. The laces with the offset enclosure are really good and it makes me wonder why everyone is so sold on Boa. They seem plenty stiff on climbs or putting the power down and are still somewhat normal to walk in. nice trick! I won't speak too ill of the shoes they were replacing, but these are sooo much better than the Torch 2.0, especially with fit around the tongue area. Plus these are more affordable and in my size, these were 20g per shoe lighter. I don't normally care too much on weight, but figured I would go ahead and measure while I was switching over my cleats just to make the review more interesting. I'll try to remember to chime back in after 2000km. POST 2000km update - Still really great. They remain comfortable and plenty stiff. I'll stick with them for the coming Spring. Excited about that! Most of my road rides are 2 - 4 hours with pretty typical 1000ft of elevation gain every 10 miles. Great shoes for that kind of riding.
