Better than Rapha - Five Stars
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Let's be clear these are not gravity pants. If you want that type of riding pant, there are better options. The dirt roamer pant is like a long version of the shorts - but better. I have a couple of the shorts and I'd say the pants have a little extra room and considerably more stretch. These are similar to Rapha's LW trail pants - but better. I have the Rapha pants (size small), which I thought would be hard to beat, until I picked up the patagonia dirt roamer pant. The patagonia pants fit better, IMO, have a better cuff and have well placed ventilation holes which actually work. There are two basic pockets, no extra adjustments, no velcro or cargo pockets - exactly what I was looking for. Regarding durability, I crashed at speed into brush that was recently trimmed (lots of thick, sharp, pointy branches!). Climbing out, I thought the pants would be toast but they were unscathed, not even a blemish - my merino jersey RIP :-( Also, FWIW, I have the carmel color (kinda orange) and they clean up great, no stains so far. Size wise, I generally wear a 31"Wx30"L in Levi's which will be a little loose. The 30" dirt roamer pants fit perfectly. I just ordered a second pair.

Returned
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
The quality of these was not what I expected. The material is thin and there’s not much, if any, reinforcement where needed for actual bike use. I had 20% off and still felt like there are far better options for less money.
