World Cup racers and weekend warriors prepare yourselves -- the Mavic Fury Shoe brings the proverbial gun to the knife fight. If your aim is to push on the pedals with furious vengeance, then the Fury is the shoe to wear. There is no substitute for efficient power transfer.

The Fury delivers unparalleled stiffness with its full carbon Energy Grip sole. Everyone knows that full power is best applied in circles. For that reason, the heel counter has been redesigned with carbon fiber to replace the previous nylon and has a new shape to more effectively hold the heel on extreme pedaling efforts. There is an injected TPU Energy Frame that helps maintain the upper's shape and safeguard it from unwanted stretch. The heavily lugged Contagrip outsole provides excellent traction during cyclocross events or heaven forbid, a hike-a-bike section on the trail. Removable toe spikes make it stick like glue to grassy run-ups. Ever had a toe stubbed on a flying cobble ejected from the front wheel? A lightweight nylon toe cap adds scuff protection for the shoe and acts as a shield for delicate toes.

The uppers on the Mavic Fury shoe lack stitched seams to avoid pressure points. The bonded joints are strong and secure, yet lay imperceptibly flat and smooth for all day comfort. There is a ratcheting buckle strap at the top of the tongue to ensure stability. The forefoot also features two Ergo straps that have a Velcro closure and are secured via Kevlar cables. The cables thread through alloy eyelets and are adjustable to account for differences in foot volume. The tongue of the shoe is made of Mavic's 3d mesh. It is an open-cell mesh foam for comfort and breathability. The 3D insole features gel inserts at the heel and toes to make it extra comfy and absorb vibration. To keep things fresh, the insole also has an anti-microbial treatment.
