Mavic designed the Elite SL for the long steady climbs, when we need both a stiff sole to efficiently transfer power to the cranks, as well as a breathable upper to keep feet cool for the way up the mountain.

Mavic eliminates all unnecessary weight from the Cosmic Elite SL to ensure they are as light as possible, weighing a scant 230grams. A single BOA dial provides a precise fit, while the hook-and-loop strap helps secure the foot in place for optimal power transfer. The Energy Carbon Com sole maximizes that power with the ideal stiffness to weight ratio. The ultralight upper, made of seamless mesh panels, draws air through the shoe for better breathability and moisture-wicking. Mavic shapes the shoe to provide the best comfort and efficiency: a rounded toe box allows toes to spread out, avoiding that dreaded foot pain mid-way up a climb. Mavic also redesigned the heel cup to better keep the foot in place, without additional material or pressure.
