Getting up to get down is the theme of the all-new Juliana Maverick Carbon C R Mountain Bike. We use this bike on big pedal days in the mountains and everything in between, and it shines bright between the tape too. The big hit bike uses 145mm of plush rear suspension out back mated to Santa Cruz/Juliana's Virtual Pivot Point linkage design. The Maverik was bred to go fast on the descents while giving our legs motivation to burn on the climbs. Specced with burly components the Type R doesn't disappoint up or down the mountain no matter how long we stay out there.
Geometry on the Juliana Maverik finds a sweet spot between slack, supportive, and aggressive. The 65-degree head angle tuned with 29in wheels for rollers screams at us to take on big features in the woods while the long-wheelbase has us searching for big jumps at our local downhill park. The seat-tube angle is a nice and steep 77-degrees in the high setting on a size medium and has us seated as comfortably as possible up fire roads even while we're climbing on a 145mm enduro bike. Juliana allows us to change the geometry found on the Maverik with a smartly integrated flip-chip.
Juliana specs the 'R' version of the build with components that won't bend under pressure and supports us through our wildest runs. A SRAM Eagle drivetrain delivers 12-speeds of impressive range and the 30t crankset is built from tough metals to fend off any rock strikes. Suspension duties are taken care of by RockShox and offer a world of support for big hit capabilities. The VPP suspension linkage is designed to keep the tires glued to the ground and active regardless of the terrain, all without dramatically responding to pedal input.
The Juliana Maverik is one to stay, whether it's staying in our truck bed or nestled away in our garages we'll be seeing plenty of rides aboard it. Built to embrace the descents without making us hate the climbs even more we can't wait to get on this bike and conquer our local backyard mountains. The Carbon C frame offers impressive stiffness and a not-to-be-ignored lifetime warranty in case anything goes awry. We're taking this progressive, fun, and enduro-focused machine out to our local race scene, or on epics through the mountains, knowing we made the right choice to get ourselves out there.
