Why We Like The Juliana Furtado C R Mountain Bike
When we are looking for a bike that has more capability and finesse than the average run-of-the-mill trail bike, we immediately think of the Juliana Furtado. Due to its aggressive geometry, mixed wheel setup, and lightweight build, the Juliana Furtado is the perfect choice for aggressive riders who find themselves hitting the jump lines and tech trails more than the tamer singletrack. A mixed-wheel setup makes this bike come alive and gives us the best of both worlds, with a 29-inch wheel up front for roll-over capability and a 27.5-inch rear wheel for more agility and clearance. From efficient climbing to capable descending, the 130mm of VPP suspension allows the Furtado to excel all over the trail. A slack 65.2-degree head tube angle and a steep 77.4-degree seat tube angle put us in the perfect position when descending and climbing, and size-specific chainstays ensure every size of Furtado has the same perfectly balanced and agile rear end. The integrated Glovebox frame storage system allows us to carry our bike tools, a spare tube, and maybe even some snacks with us at all times, and a Tube Wallet and Tube Purse help keep our tools and items organized. Additional features of the Furtado include a Sag Window for easy shock setup, integrated downtube and chainstay protectors for frame protection, and a shuttle guard to put our bike in the truck bed and shuttle to the trailhead.
The R build of the Juliana Furtado is the entry-level build, but that doesn't mean cheap components. Fitted with an SRAM 12-speed drivetrain, RockShox and Fox suspension, and Juliana's Carbon C frame, The Furtado R build is perfect for anybody who wants to shred without paying an arm and a leg. SRAM's NX Eagle drivetrain gives us a reliable 12-speed drivetrain with a huge range and a reliable track record so that we can climb over any obstacle. The RockShox Pike base model is simple and gives us a reliable fork up front, and a Fox Float Performance rear shock smooths things out in the rear to provide us with an efficient and plush ride. Premium Maxxis DHRII tires and Race Face AR Offset rims make for a wheelset that will tear up the trail. Lastly, SRAM's 4-piston G2 R brakes give us the stopping power we need for shredding at a high level.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
