GREAT product at a value price
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Compared to a similar Thule rack, this is a real bargain at the current price. I purchased an earlier version of this rack nearly 10 years ago. It has had much use and is extremely well built. As a result the only parts of the rack which deteriorated are the rubber soft cradles on which the bicycles rest and the straps. They deteriorated over time. I contacted Inno and asked them to replace these parts. They responded that I had the rack for years and should not expect warranty coverage. I reminded them that the rack had a lifetime warranty limited only by proof of continuing ownership. After some delay they DID replace all the cradles and straps. I have installed these replaceable items and the rack is like NEW again. The frame, hinges, and locks all continue to operate perfectly and it has TWO locks, one for the hitch and the second cable lock to extend over the bikes. I am 73 years of age, and I expect this rack to continue to function well until my death which will then finally end the "lifetime" warranty, unfortunately, and as they say, you can't take it with you. Inno/Carmate is a Japanese company and this is a well made Japanese product.
