Stainless Chainsuck Protector

If you've made the investment in an Ibis, chances are that you're looking to keep it running in top shape. Lucky enough, Ibis sympathizes with you, which is why it offers its Stainless Chain Suck Protector in models to fit each of its mountain bike frames.

Ibis's carbon fiber frames have earned a reputation for durability. However, as with any composite frames, they're vulnerable to damage from deep gouges. And, not surprisingly, this will compromise their strength. Accordingly, this minimalist stainless protective plate attaches to the chainstay of your Ibis frame in order to ensure that a snagged chain doesn't take a bite out of your rear triangle.

Affixing this plate requires the use of a strong adhesive. Ibis recommends JB weld, which is widely available at most any hardware store. And, if your current protector is due for replacement, Ibis recommends carefully removing any excess adhesive with a razor blade.
