Why We Like The Ibis Ripley X0 AXS Transmission Carbon Wheel Mountain Bike
Back with a new breath of life, the Ibis Ripley gets completely redesigned to bring us a more rowdy bike on the trails. From the frame shape to the travel numbers and sizing, nearly every aspect of the Ripley has been improved to bring us the most capable iteration to date. The Ripley gets a 10mm bump in travel in both the front and rear travel and now features 130mm of DW-Link suspension paired with a 140mm fork for more capability and confidence all over the mountain. A longer wheelbase and reach give us more stability on steep terrain, and the slacker 64.9-degree head gives us confidence when things get steep. One of the biggest updates is sizing—the Ripley is now available in five sizes to fit a broader range of riders and has size-specific geometry for an improved fit and feel for each rider. The Ripley comes stock as a dual 29'er, but with a flip chip on the rear shock link, we can install a 27.5-inch wheel for a more agile ride.
The X0 AXS Transmission build is top-tier and has premium drivetrain, suspension, and cockpit components to bring us the absolute best on the trail. First up is Ibis's premium carbon frame, which sports a lightweight and durable carbon layup that has an excellent reputation for durability. Next, SRAM's X0 Transmission drivetrain equips us with a 12-speed drivetrain that shifts electronically for precision and efficiency and sports a huge gear range for any technical climb. A Fox Float Factory DPS rear shock is lightweight and has tons of adjustments so we can tune our ride to our preference, while the Fox Float 34 Factory GripX fork gives us the support and cushion we need to plow down descents or race up a climb. SRAM Code RSC brakes throw down tons of power to keep us under control on sketchy descents, and the upgraded Industry Nine carbon fiber wheels ensure precise handling, reduced trail feedback, and a lighter overall weight.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
