Regime Cycling Shoe
Running the show on Giro’s mid-level, performance road cycling shoe is the Regime, equipped with an upgraded dual Boa L6 dial closure system compared to the Cadet’s single, and style reminiscent of the slightly slenderer, lace-up Empire ACC. The Regime seems to coalesce the finer parts of what works so well with the entry-level Cadet and the more elite performance characteristics of the full carbon sole found in the exceptional Empire line. Constructed with a single piece of Synchwire, with laser-perforations for venting, the Regime provides a supportive and thermobonded fit for any cycling session, whether racing or on the indoor trainer. Ditching the hook-and-loop toe strap of the Cadet, the Regime fine-tunes your fit at 1mm increments with the dual Boa L6 dials for faster micromanagement during on-bike adjustments.
Underneath, an upgraded carbon-composite sole efficiently transfers watts to the pedals, and a 3D molded footbed provides medium arch support for a neutral fit. Additionally, the Regime removes the 2-bolt cleat holes and moves to a 3-bolt only cleat pattern with 5mm of adjustment. This signals the transition to a road-focused approach for the Regime. While still accommodating serious indoor training sessions, it will not match with conventional spin-class pedal systems, as will the Cadet.

Beautiful Shoe - But too narrow for me
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

I loved the look and feel of this shoe. It's extremely light, has great heal capture, the sole felt stiff and solid, and BOA is high quality. I really wanted to keep them, but after trying the on and thinking about it, being realistic, they are too tight in the ball of the foot area for me. I am returning them. I just placed a new order for the Lake CX238 Wide. I must have the wide, cannot manage a normal width shoe.

Logged 2500 miles and just love these shoes. Comfortable, light, stylish. Seriously considering buying a few for future proofing myself in case they update or discontinue.

Absolutely love the uppers on these shoes. Absolutely hate the soles! I love the look and feel of the uppers they were super comfortable when I first tried them on and the double boa is my favorite type of anchor system&.. BUT Once I made the mistake of putting my cleats on them and setting out for my first ride I realized that the "carbon composite" sole is complete trash. There's no way you can put the power through to the pedals. These things are floppy like an old wet pair of gym shoes. I've never felt such pain in my feet as I did trying to climb in them:( Medieval torture device at best. It really is a shame because they are beautiful and ultra comfortable as long as you're not cycling in them.

BOA dial broke off
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
After about three months of use, one of the BOA dials broke off completely as I was attempting to loosen it to remove it. Although I think the fit is good and it is a good looking shoe, I am disappointed in quality.

Great Shoe

I was looking for an under $300 shoe and this one is great!. Fits comfortable. Slightly tight around the toe and I did return for a .5 size change up that now fits great.

I've had bad luck getting cycling shoes to fit right. Shoes might feel good in the store, but feeling hot spots on long rides. I have normal width feet, but high arches. Given this I stick to what I know works. Overall the Regime shoes fit great and is extremely comfortable. My old Trans road shoes came with different arch support fit kits. the Regime only comes with a standard insole. To my surprise, my old soles (43) fit into the new Regime (size 43.5) making its fit just that little much better. I guess the fit kits come in increments of 4 half sizes (e.g., 43-44.5). If you need different arch support other than medium, get one of the Super Natural fit kits. Its worth it. I love the Boa system with very fine tightening adjustments. You can't reverse the Boa dial, but when you release the dial, it doesn't fully release. It opens up just a little allowing you to release just a little pressure and click it in quickly as readjust as needed (maybe just a click or two to snug it up again).
