32 Float 29 100 CTD FIT Limited Edition Fork - 2015

If speed is a corollary of control, then the 2015 FOX Racing Shox 32 FLOAT 29 100 FIT CTD Limited Edition Stealth Fork is essentially a disappearing act. Its darkened decals make the thing a virtual vacuum of light, while the divine handling it bestows upon your bike means you'll be hitting light-like speeds. It all equates to a fork that you'll barely see coming or going, which is exactly what you want from the race machines for which it was designed.

Like recent generations of FOX's Factory series forks, the FLOAT controls its stroke with the venerable FIT damper. The "FIT" acronym stands for FOX Isolated Technology. And, unlike a traditional open bath system, FIT means that the damper fluid is sealed in an air-tight bladder. This prevents contamination, which improves the consistency of the damper on long descents, and over time in general.

Longtime FOX riders will immediately notice FOX's Climb, Trail, Descend (or CTD) damper adjustment range, which has been improved for the 2015 model year. The Trail setting now has seven sub-settings, as opposed to the previous three. That translates into more fine-tuning of your low-speed compression, to perfectly balance support and suppleness. As ever, Climb mode provides the most damping for a near locked-out feel, with a bit of cushion for any unexpected hard hits. Descend mode provides the lightest compression damping for a plush ride, great for when it's time to fly down rough stuff.

The Stealth comes with refined Kashima-coated stanchions, which offer reduced friction, and in turn, better small-bump compliance than the previous Kashima coat. Essentially, the gold outer layer remains the same — what has changed is the base anodizing, which results in an even smoother surface than before. This is in addition to a new, lower-friction lubricating oil, which adds to the dramatically smoother ride. In addition to the friction reducing benefits, Kashima coating is harder than standard stanchion coatings. This equates to a longer wear life and greater durability overall, as well as more supple suspension action.

The trail-ready, race-weight 32mm chassis is identical to the standard FLOAT 32 100mm forks. It's amply stiff and solid for most riders, thanks to the massive tapered steerer tube and stout construction, but still tips the scales at a mere 1560 grams.

The 2015 FOX Racing Shox 32 FLOAT 29 100 CTD FIT Limited Edition Stealth Fork accommodates a 29-inch wheel, has a 1.5-inch tapered steerer tube, and uses a 15mm front thru-axle.
