Arione Donna 00 Saddle

The ladies-specific Ariona Donna 00 Women's Saddle is Fi'zi:k's answer to the call from professional female riders for a saddle designed specifically for their unique anatomy. 

The Arione Donna 00 Saddle takes the shape of the regular Arione and reforms it, making it slightly shorter and slightly wider at the rear to accommodate a woman's wider sit bones. A saddle's comfort lies mainly in its shape, but the Donna also makes use of a high density foam padding in order to create the pressure relief channel that runs the length of the saddle. But don't worry that you'll feel like you're riding on a squishy foam pad that hits you in all the wrong places. To the contrary, Fi'zi:k has a scale by which they measure their saddles from plush to medium to firm — the Donna 00 comes in somewhere between medium and firm.

But since the shape, which includes the wider sit platform and the soft-tissue relieving channel, has been tailored to fit the women's anatomy, this saddle will give you a comfortable ride whether you're taking a few laps around the park to spin the legs or are near the end of your mid-summer century ride through the hills. The shell itself, like the men's version, is made from nylon that is reinforced with carbon, and it makes use of their Wingflex technology. The Wingflex shell flexes downward in the critical area where the inner thighs contact the saddle allowing for more efficient, full-range movement while pedaling.

At the heart of the Donna is its one-piece Mobius carbon rail construction. This is a braided carbon weave that was filled with unidirectional fibers for exceptional strength and road-tuned dampening. Fi'zi:k took the braided Mobius platform and wrapped a rough carbon cloth material around the rails' clamping zones, ensuring both a secure bond between the rails and clamp, and to increase overall durability. The Mobius differs from the carbon braided rails found in Fi'zi:k's other saddles in that -- besides its new one-piece construction -- it was built with flatter sections on both sides of the clamping zone. In addition to reducing weight, these flat areas provide more vertical compliance than round rails, further increasing your comfort through the subtle flex they provide.

The Fi'zi:k Arione Donna 00 Women's Saddle has a Black/anthracite cover made from microtex microfiber. Tipping the 159 grams, it is in line with some of the lightest minimalist men's saddles. It's ICS compatible so it can accommodate any of Fi'zi:k's saddle packs or their rear taillight.
