Why We Like The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe
When we are mountain biking, wearing mountain bike-specific shoes makes a huge difference. The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe is one of our top choices when we need a mountain bike shoe with all the necessary features. The synthetic upper is super durable, quick-drying, and abrasion-resistant, and a lace closure ensures we get the perfect fit every time. An impact-resistant toebox protects our feet from rock strikes, and a molded EVA midsole absorbs energy from rough trails and hard landings. Five Ten used their signature Stealth S1 Dotty rubber outsole to provide us with an excellent grip both on and off the bike, and a durable rubber compound stands up to the wear and tear of pedal pins. Finally, with an Ortholite sock liner and footbed, our feet are comfortable all ride long.

Great shoes
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 8.5
- Height:
- 5' 6"
- Weight:
- 132
I switched to flat pedals on my mountain bike and bought these shoes at the same time as the pedals because I wasn't going to make the switch unless I found flat pedal shoes that fit my picky feet. Took my first ride yesterday and I was not disappointed. First off, the flat pedals were a gamechanger, and I'm sure a lot of the reason for that was I loved these shoes as well. I wear an 8.5, which is what I ordered, and I would say they are slightly longer than my other 8.5 shoes but not noticeably so when I'm riding. I have a pretty narrow foot and was able to adjust the laces to achieve the perfect fit. The toe box is pretty roomy (especially relative to my road shoes) which I preferred as the shoes are very breathable and I could wiggle my toes when my feet started feeling numb. I was worried the excess material on top would not be comfortable when I hiked up steep or rocky sections, but was very happy with how well they performed when I did that a few times during the ride, plus they felt more like good hiking shoes compared to more snuggly fitting shoes with cleats on the bottom.

Great shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shoe! They felt very stiff and tight at first but broke in really fast. I normally wear size 8 1/2 shoe, but for some reason the 8 in this style fits the best.

Top of the line!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shoes fits great, is very durable, waterproof and has loads of grip. Being a pro dh racer that also likes to take her feet off the pedals off jumps, this shoe is perfect for me. I hope to have Adidas Five Ten join my list of sponsors, in the future.

Great purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoes stick to the pedals, the only issue I have is the shoes run small, size up.

Amazing quality shoe!!!
I am in love with these shoes!!! Right out of the box the quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. They fit perfectly, true to size. I am an 8.5 and the 8.5 fits perfectly. If I had gone down to an 8 they would have been too small. And I never wear a size 9. The stickiness of the shoes is great on flat pedals. I am able to lift my rear wheel with ease in these shoes and they do have a good grip on pedals so much so that it takes more effort to reposition your foot on the pedal. This is great thought. I like the stability and confidence these shoes give me on the trails.
