XR 1501 Spline 29in Wheel

Lighter than its XM counterpart, DT Swiss' XR 1501 Spline 29in Wheel is intended for traditional crosscountry riding and racing. It favors weight savings, but without sacrificing too much in the strength department. In fact, the XR 1501's rims share the same Strength Boost Welding Technology as XM rims, meaning that you're able to ride with confidence over the rough stuff.

The XR 1501's rim is narrower than the XM, providing an excellent platform for straight ahead speed. However, to compensate from the narrower width, DT Swiss' Strength Boost Welding Technology was employed to ensure that your wheels makes it through the rough stuff in one piece. Essentially, this process uses two small inserts that stabilize the rim during welding in order to increase structural integrity.

Adding to the strength picture are straight-pull spokes. These DT Swiss spokes are double-butted for weight reduction, however, this process doesn't sacrifice strength. Additionally, the elimination of J-bend spokes, or spoke elbows, ditches one of the more common fail points of a mountain wheel. The best part is that these straight-pull spokes are replaceable with traditional tools, making home maintenance a simplified affair. At the nipple, DT Swiss injects its patented liquid to prevent backing out and to ensure durability.

At the hub, DT Swiss' favored star ratcheting system takes care of reliability by handling extremely high loads with minimal amount of mechanical drag. And, like the spokes, it doesn't require proprietary tools in order to provide routine maintenance. In terms of braking, the hubs have a six-bolt rotor interface, and for added stiffness, they're available with a 15mm front thru- axle and a X-12 rear thru-axle.

The DT Swiss XR 1501 Spline 29in Wheels are available in the color Black. The front comes equipped with a 15mm thru-axle, and the rear is available with 12x142mm thru-axle. Please note that these wheels are sold individually, and that the freehub body comes with either a Shimano or XX1 compatibility.
