Diving off the deep end has never been less intimidating than with the Devinci Troy Deore Mountain Bike. This workhorse of a bike gets us up and down the trails with relative ease, asking to be ridden hard all day and rewarding our efforts ten-fold on the descent. Built with 140mm of travel, this bike enjoys being in the middle of our quiver between our quick-hitting cross-country bikes and long-travel enduro rigs. The 4th generation of the Devinci Troy doesn’t disappoint, with modern geometry numbers and updated components we’re rallying this bike through all sorts of terrain.
The new Troy has geometry numbers that make us want to turn it into our next long-term bike. The bike comes with an integrated flip-chip so we can swap between high and low settings at the trailhead. A slack 65.5° head-tube angle in the high setting can be lowered a further half degree with the flip-chip, as can the 78° seat-tube angle. Devinci has gone all out on sizing, spec'ing size-specific chainstay lengths across the range to better suit a variety of riders. Paired with the longest reach of any generation Troy, this Devinci easily goads us into getting in trouble while we’re out on the trail.
Kit on the Devinci is equally dialed, with the impressive 12-speed Shimano Deore system taking care of drivetrain and braking duties. This budget-friendly drivetrain includes the same technological advancements higher-end Shimano groups have perfected, bringing it down to a more affordable level without a significant weight penalty. Rubber is taken care of by Maxxis, with their aggressive DHF in the front and DHR II in the rear keeping us on track and rolling smooth. Devinci has smartly spec'd the bike with a 2.5in front tire, giving us supreme traction and float over all the rough and chunder we can find. A 2.4in rear tire keeps the back end in check and rolling smoothly through tight and twisty trails.
*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be minor. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
