If you aren’t easily swooned by indoor training during winter, the Alpha RoS 2 provides a feature-heavy barrier against nature’s bite, ensuring the miles are logged even in the harshest conditions. Continuing Castelli’s impeccable lineage of inclement weather, performance clothing, the Alpha RoS 2 gets a double-layered Alpha construction comprising an inner insulation layer and outer Gore-Tex Infinium wind and water barrier. The layers provide protection down to 23 degrees F as well as superior wind and water resistance to brace against pocket showers or a ride-long drencher.
Castelli manages to engineer subtle and effective traits into the Alpha RoS 2 that, at first glance go unnoticed, but act as welcomed finishing touches you’ll appreciate during mixed weather riding. Further adding to the comfort and warmth characteristics are the high neck, which prevents cold air rushing on the chest, and the double layer cuffs that seal out water and wind and allow for expert fitting under gloves. A water-resistant zipper and taped shoulder seams seal out areas that are prone to water ingress, while discreet back flaps vent out heat to maintain comfort on rides up to 50 degrees F and during intense interval sessions. Castelli adds drainage holes to the pockets, which provide an extra dose of security compared to the mesh openings of previous jackets, and a zipper side-pocket corrals valuables for the long haul.

I’m a former pro cyclist who has ridden at competitive level since 1985. I have worn lots of technical cycling gear over the years and the Castelli Alpha RoS 2 Jacket is truly a stand out in outerwear! For my size and weight this jacket fits perfectly at size large, even with a medium weight base layer underneath. The construction and materials have held up in all conditions and washings. This is a warm jacket that I can wear all the way from 5° fat tire riding in Alaska - 50° road or gravel riding in Virginia and still be comfortable. It has easy to reach and protected pockets and a built-in inner layer vest that is perfect when you need to unzip and vent but still stay warm, without the outer jacket flapping around. All its other features are also excellent. A+

Keeps me warm. Can just use a base layer and this coat, nothing else is needed and will stay warm on these cold winter days of outdoor riding. Runs small so size up. I'm normally either L or XL but went to a XXL on this coat after reading reviews and glad I did. Save $$ on the Limited Edition I guess because of the color, but a penny saved is a penny earned! It was discounted and the others weren't so I went with this one.

This jacket performs! I?ve had it out in the low 30s with just the Castelli Flanders base layer and wasn?t either too hot or cold. It does it?s job wicking the sweat away and keeps you dry. It has kept me comfortable on cold days so far. Look forward to riding all winter with this! I?m 5? 6? and 173lbs and this jacket definitely runs small. I have the xxl and it fits perfect.
