GREAT Desert Trail Shoe

The Gel Nimbus 23 is my favorite running shoe. I use it in spring and fall as it's not great below 30F or above 60F. I use some "light" version of the Gel Nimbus in the summer. I don't love it, but I'm not complaining much. I use some much cheaper Asics trail shoe in the winter as it's a warmer shoe and is basically waterproof. I can stomp in puddles and such with little issue. I expected a better version of the cheapo Asics trail shoe and I almost got it. I'm signed up a for trail run so I wanted to get a new pair of trail shoes. I bought these. They fit perfectly right from the start and needed basically zero breaking in. They feel good and were lighter than I expected....lighter than my Gel Nimbus 23s. I ran on the street to get to the trail. No issues! Great! Once I got on the trail I decided to run through some grass at 7am in July. We have lots of dew here. As best as I can tell, these shoes sucked up more moisture from the grass than was actually available. Yes, these shoes break the laws of physics! (Slight exaggeration.) My toes were soaked in 100 yards of running in grass. Yuck! After finishing the 4 miles my feet looked like I had soaked them for 30 minutes. I've never seen that before. So, I'd say these are the perfect trail running shoe for me if I ever run in the desert. As is, I'm not sure what to do with them. Maybe I can wait for another drought or something. I tried spraying them with some waterproofing spray. It knocked the moisture down maybe 60% but it was still completely excessive. I guess I'll spray them again. These shoes seem to let moisture in and not EVER let it out. It even takes them longer to dry than any running shoe I've ever seen.
