Not the fine merino wool I hoped for

I was very excited to get this item as it seemed like it would be the perfect base layer for where I live (NorCal). I have a bit of a wool allergy - get very itchy from wool, but can tolerate a fine spun merino wool. Given that this is an Italian product, I had high hopes that the merino used would be of high quality, but, alas, it isn‘t. I got itchy just from trying it on and had to return it.
